Job summary

James Madison University Libraries seeks a qualified Student Coordinator to co-supervise student workers and lead training within the LIS team. The role focuses on training and supporting service points at Rose and Carrier libraries, with a collaborative, student-centered approach.

The successful candidate reports to the Director of Access & User Services, and works with LIS, A&D, and Music staff. This is a full-time role with benefits.

Responsibilities

• Co-coordinate student employment for ~50–60 staff at Carrier and Rose Library service points.
• Develop and maintain student employee training policies and procedures.
• Design and evaluate training using instructional design and edu. tech.
• Collaborate with AUS Coordinators to improve service point staff.
• Cross-train and backup core LIS duties as needed.
• Provide direct user support through Ask the Library service points.
• Engage in cross-training and professional development within AUS-LIS.
• Pursue professional development, scholarship, or service activities.
