The University of Kansas Open Language Resource Center seeks a Technology Assistant to provide front-line customer service, basic tech support, and resource management in a bustling learning environment. You will help students and faculty access instructional spaces, multimedia tools, and digital resources.
This hourly, on-site role supports the center's daily operations, including catalog maintenance, circulation tasks, and multimedia content editing.
The Technology Assistant serves as an essential member of the Open Language Resource Center team, supporting the center's daily operations and enhancing the experience of students, faculty, and other patrons. This position provides front-line customer service and technical support within a dynamic learning environment that includes instructional technology, multimedia resources, and active learning spaces. Technology Assistants contribute to the effective management of library and learning resources while helping users access and utilize a variety of educational technologies and services. Through administrative support, resource management, and technology-related assistance, this role helps ensure the Open Language Resource Center remains an accessible, organized, and innovative resource for the campus community.
During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).
(1) Student employees are not eligible for remote work arrangements unless an exception is approved by the unit leadership and HR.
(2) This is an hourly/non-exempt position. A student employee cannot hold an hourly/non-exempt position and a salaried/exempt graduate or undergraduate position (GRA/GTA/GA/RUA/RGA) concurrently.
