Job summary

University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, OK is seeking a student employee for Disability Support Services (DSS). The role includes assisting with proctoring alternate testing in the DSS Testing Center, helping students with software and assistive technology on lab computers, and maintaining the DSS lab in NUC 305.

The position supports hardware/software maintenance of accessible workstations campus-wide and provides tier 1 IT support for DSS office technology.

Qualifications

• Computer-related major (MIS, CS, etc.).
• Prior lab or technical job experience.
• Knowledge of computer hardware and software.
• Ability to troubleshoot technology related problems.
• Willing to learn new things.

Responsibilities

• Assist with administering and proctoring alternative testing in the DSS Testing Center.
• Assist students with questions pertaining to software and assistive technology on lab computers.
• Monitor and maintain the DSS lab at NUC 305.
• Assist in software/hardware maintenance of accessible workstations across campus.
• Provide tier 1 level support for all office computers and technology in DSS office space – this includes installing software, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and assisting users with various technical issues.
• Migrate users' files from their old computer to a new computer.
• Assist with the creation and execution of training sessions.
• Assist in providing accessible textbooks for students with disabilities.
• Assist with the maintenance of DSS hardware inventory.
• Answer general questions of students/visitors to DSS inquiring about accommodations.
