Job summary

University of Wisconsin-La Crosse invites applications for a pool of Student Teaching University Supervisors. This temporary position mentors teacher candidates during school experiences, serving as a university representative and liaison with cooperating schools.

Responsibilities include regular observations, providing feedback, and guiding development while participating in required trainings and meetings.

Qualifications

• At least three years of PK-12 teaching experience or equivalent.
• Professional demeanor and adherence to the School of Education Field Experience Handbook.
• Provide constructive and supportive feedback to teacher candidates and cooperating teachers.
• Knowledge of Wisconsin PI 34 standards or ability to learn them.
• Strong interpersonal communication, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills.
• Willingness to learn and become proficient with email and assessment systems within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Conduct four or more observation visits per semester for each assigned teacher candidate.
• Schedule observations and conferences in advance, and provide drop-in observations.
• Provide weekly support and constructive feedback to teacher candidates.
• Serve as liaison between university and cooperating schools/teachers.
• Monitor performance and document progress and assessments.
• Participate in orientations and School of Education meetings as required.
• Maintain timely communication with the Office of Field Experience.
