Job summary

William and Mary School of Education invites applications for a pool of university supervisors for the 2026-2027 academic year. Responsibilities include mentoring and supervising teacher candidates during student teaching, observing them across five visits, providing coaching and formative feedback, and conducting conferences with the student-teacher pair.

The supervisor also completes two formal evaluations, serves as a liaison with partner schools, and attends one annual training.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required.
• Current or former state teaching license.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and supervise teacher candidates during student teaching.
• Observe student teachers five times across a semester in K-12 settings.
• Provide coaching and formative evaluations with written feedback.
• Facilitate conferences with student-teacher–cooperating teacher pairs.
• Complete two formal evaluations of each student teacher's performance.
• Liaise between the university and partner schools; attend one training session per year.
