Job summary

Central Michigan University’s Office of Educator Preparation Programs seeks applicants for University Coordinator/Student Teacher Supervisor, who will provide field supervision for Spring 2027 Teacher Candidates. University Coordinators oversee student teaching in assigned centers, observing and coaching candidates, and communicating with PK-12 partners to support program requirements and policies.

Appointments are semester-based; workload capped at 11 teacher candidates per semester, with

Qualifications

Master’s degree in education or related field.
Valid teaching certificate.
Five years of PK-12 teaching or administrative experience.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to mentor adult learners.
Experience with teacher evaluation systems.
Capacity to manage multiple tasks within deadlines.

Responsibilities

Participate in coordinator meetings, professional development activities, and online trainings.
Follow the master syllabus and utilize cohort time for collaboration and intervention for candidate success.
Support candidates’ growth through observations and feedback in the field.
Complete required paperwork by deadlines (surveys, observations, evaluations).
Coordinate placements and scheduling with the Associate Director for Clinical Experiences or designee.
Represent CMU professionally to PK-12 partners and stakeholders.
Maintain awareness of school policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
