Job summary

Moravian University invites applications for a part-time Stage 3/4 Student Teaching Supervisor in the Education department. The role mentors, coaches, and evaluates teacher candidates in field placements, ensuring alignment with PDE standards.

This field-based adjunct position requires travel during school hours to assigned districts and collaboration with university faculty. The supervisor will observe and provide feedback, conduct PDE-aligned evaluations, and support teachers and candidates

Qualifications

• Master’s degree and PDE teaching certification required.
• Minimum of 5 years of successful PK-12 teaching and/or supervisory experience.
• PDE-approved administrative certification preferred (e.g., Principal, Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction).
• Demonstrated coaching and mentoring skills in educational settings.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel independently during school hours to local partnering districts.

Responsibilities

• Observe and evaluate student teachers in clinical settings.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback on teaching performance.
• Conduct PDE-aligned observations and evaluations (e.g., PDE 430).
• Support mentor/cooperating teachers and student teachers in navigating supervision process.
• Maintain professional communication with university faculty and school partners.
• Facilitate triad meetings and coaching conversations for instructional growth.
• Participate in orientation, calibration sessions, and supervisor meetings.
• Ensure timely submission of observation reports, evaluations, and final grades.
