The following statements of essential functions and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. Actual duties and responsibilities may vary depending on building assignment and other factors determined with supervisor and/or building principal.
The Student Teacher will gain hands‑on teaching experience in a classroom setting under the guidance of a Cooperating Teacher and university supervisor. This position is designed to provide pre‑service teachers with opportunities to develop instructional strategies, classroom management skills, and an understanding of curriculum implementation in alignment with district and state standards.
Exempt
The Student Teacher will be observed and evaluated by both the Cooperating Teacher and the university supervisor based on performance, instructional effectiveness, and professional growth.
This position is an unpaid learning experience in partnership with the university you are enrolled at and Manitou Springs School District 14.
