Requires high school diploma, paraprofessional credentials, first aid/CPR, and ability to lift up to 40 pounds. The 2.50-hour day, 184-day schedule is part of a 10-month term in this district.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Official college transcript with evidence of 72.0 college-level quarter credit hour OR Associate's or higher degree OR Parapro Assessment with score of 455 or higher.
• Completion of fourteen (14) hours of Fundamental Course of Study training during first year of employment.
• Completion of an additional 70 hours of professional development within three years to obtain the General Paraeducator Certificate.
• Ability to stoop, crouch, crawl, bend, kneel, and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
• First Aid & CPR training (within 30 days from date of hire) and maintained.
• Experience and/or training with cultural, ethnic, and language diversity preferred.
• Successful Washington State Patrol and FBI Fingerprint Clearance.
• Proof of Immunization (if born 1/1/57 or later).
• I-9 Employment Eligibility compliance.
• Completion of district-required training within 30 calendar days from hire date.

Responsibilities

• Assists students one-to-one and in small groups to provide learning support across instructional areas.
• Assists students in dealing with conflict and improving behavior.
• Assists teachers in preparing learning materials and visual aids.
• Coordinates activities and meets with teachers regularly.
• Administers tests and evaluates student progress and grades assignments.
• Maintains student records and grades.
• Supervises students and enforces area rules to keep a safe environment.
• Uses computers and district software as needed.
• Attends meetings and trainings and maintains consistent work hours.
