Job summary

Oakland Human Resources Consortium is seeking two Paraeducator Student Support positions at Highland Elementary School. You will support students with emotional impairment under the supervision of the classroom teacher.

Position operates 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with reporting to the Building Principal. Start date is August 2026, for the 2026-27 school year, at Highland Elementary School.

Qualifications

• Must work with students with physical, cognitive, emotional, learning or developmental disabilities.
• Preferred prior experience with this age group or special education students.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with school staff.
• Must sign Medicaid billing consent and be willing to attend crisis intervention training.
• Must use crisis intervention skills as directed by teachers/administration.
• Other duties may be assigned by the special education teacher or principal.

Responsibilities

• Complement, supplement and reinforce instruction under the teacher's supervision.
• Assist with material prep and classroom cleanup.
• Assist with general supervision during lunch, recess, etc.
• May assist with routine medical procedures or hygiene needs as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the teacher or principal.
• Track academic or behavioral data as directed.
