Job summary

Oakland Unified School District – Hintil Kuu Ca Early Childhood Education in Oakland, CA is seeking a part‑time Paraeducator (0.8 FTE) to support students with disabilities under the supervision of a certificated teacher.

You will assist with instruction, health needs, and IEP objectives in a TK/SDC setting, helping create engaging learning environments and promoting student progress. 202 days/year, 7.5 hours per day as assigned.

Qualifications

• Specialized instruction support for students with disabilities under certificated teacher
• Ability to assist with health needs and basic care
• Familiarity with IEP goals and progress monitoring
• Knowledge of safety procedures and emergency protocols
• Experience working with diverse student populations (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Assist certificated teacher to deliver instruction in Pre‑K through TK/SDC programs
• Read and implement IEP goals to support student progress
• Communicate with teachers and parents regarding student progress
• Assist with behavior supports and classroom management
• Provide support for mobility, health needs, and basic student hygiene

High school diploma or equivalent

Associate degree or 48 college units

CBEST/ParaPro/CODESP passing score

First Aid & CPR certification

Valid California Driver’s License
