Job summary

Cherry Creek Careers in Colorado is seeking an Instructional Para Educator to support licensed staff by assisting students with basic curriculum work, implementing programming, reinforcing learning and behavior guidelines. You will help prepare classroom materials, monitor students, record achievement, and may work with behaviorally challenging children, in a busy school setting.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.
• High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma.
• No professional work experience required.
• Two years of college coursework or associate’s degree (or equivalent).
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Intermediate English language skills.
• Advanced interpersonal relations and organizational skills.
• Ability to work one-on-one and in small groups with students.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher in preparing materials, administering tests, grading, attendance, etc. Daily 30% effort.
• Assist students with classroom activities and curriculum delivery to individuals and small groups. Daily 30% effort.
• Monitor students and reinforce appropriate behavior during activities. Daily 20% effort.
• Perform basic clerical work for the classroom teacher (typing, filing, data entry, supplies). Daily 10% effort.
• Assist with other classroom events such as field trips or fire drills. Daily 5% effort.
• Perform other duties as assigned. Daily 5% effort.
