Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools in Vancouver, WA is seeking a General Paraeducator to support instructional staff and students. This 6.5-hour/day, 9-month position works under certificated teachers to implement lessons and behavior support in the classroom.

Qualifications

• Documentation verifying a high school diploma or GED AND
• Official transcripts or ParaPro results as required with application
• One year of related experience working with children preferred
• Experience as part of an educational team preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities

Responsibilities

• Treat co-workers, supervisors, students, parents and others with dignity and respect at all times
• Serve as a positive role model and support classroom learning
• Work in a flexible and cooperative manner with certificated teachers
• Identify student learning needs and monitor progress under teacher guidance
• Provide supervision and ensure safety and security of students
• Assist to grade papers, communicate progress, and support interventions
