Naugatuck Public Schools, Central Avenue Early Childhood Center, seeks a Para-Educator to support students under a certified teacher. You will work one-to-one or with small groups and help maintain materials and records while reinforcing instruction.

Responsibilities include preparing classrooms, setting up centers, assisting with art, music, PE, transportation duties as needed, attending PPT/IEP meetings, and supporting health and daily routines.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Warm and supportive personality with the ability to relate to special needs children.
• Ability to respect the rights of all students and the rules of confidentiality.
• Prior experience working in a school or adolescence setting is preferred.
• Must meet the requirements of highly qualified as defined by applicable law: at least two (2) years of college learning, or an Associate's degree, or ParaPro Assessment Test score 457.

Aufgaben

• Assist in preparing classroom for beginning and ending of school year.
• Maintain daily classroom environment and set up learning centers, materials, and AV equipment.
• Reinforce skills taught in daily lessons.
• Participate in PPT/IEP meetings when required.
• Assist with transportation duties as assigned (bus methods, seating, routes).
• Attend staff meetings and professional development as required.
