Job summary

North Haven Public Schools (CT) is seeking a Paraeducator for Clintonville Elementary School in North Haven, CT. The role supports students with disabilities under IEP guidance, collaborating with teachers and service staff.

Responsibilities include 1:1 and small group support, behavior data collection, and implementing instructional strategies in multiple settings. Qualifications include a High School Diploma with ParaPro Test or an Associate's Degree, and preferred experience with disabilities

Qualifications

High School Diploma and ParaPro Test by February 1, 2026; or Associate's Degree.
Prefer experience working with children with disabilities.
Prefer experience using technology (i.e. Google).

Responsibilities

Assist students with communication, sensory, learning and behavioral challenges under certified staff guidance.
Support instruction across general, self-contained, resource, and community settings.
Collect and chart behavioral, academic, social, and communication data.
Implement proactive behavior strategies and fading/prompts.
Provide 1:1 or small group support as needed.
Be trained in de-escalation and physical restraint techniques as required.
