Job summary

Naugatuck Public Schools is seeking a Para-Educator to support students under the direction of a certified teacher. You will work one-to-one or in small groups, reinforce instruction, and help maintain materials, equipment and student records.

Responsibilities include preparing classrooms, supporting various subject areas, assisting with field trips and health-related student needs, and participating in IEP/PPT meetings as required.

Qualifications

• Must meet highly qualified as defined by applicable law.
• Flexibility to assist in general and special education settings.
• Ability to reinforce instruction under teacher direction.
• Prior experience in school settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist students one-to-one or in small groups as directed by the teacher.
• Support in maintaining materials, equipment and student records.
• Reinforce instruction and manage classroom activity under supervision.
• Assist with health, safety and behavior management as needed.
• Participate in student activities and IEP/ PPT meetings when required.
