Job summary

Umpqua Community College seeks a Student Services Specialist to help students access funding, resources, and opportunities that support their educational goals. Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of grant tracking, reporting, and accounting.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing, databases, and presentations.
  • Experience developing and presenting seminars, workshops, or trainings.
  • Experience working with students and mentoring relationships.
  • Experience with diverse social, economic, academic, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Valid driver’s license and eligibility for UCC vehicle insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Identify students who may qualify for available funding and assess eligibility.
  • Monitor student progress and intervene to support successful outcomes.
  • Help students access funding and other resources to reduce barriers to education.
  • Provide individualized career and college coaching, mentoring, and support.
  • Assess student needs and connect with internal and external resources.
  • Coordinate with campus staff to support student services.
  • Maintain accurate records of student contacts, services, progress, and outcomes.
  • Prepare required student data and program reports.
  • Deliver presentations, workshops, and outreach related to resources and funding.
