Job summary

YES Prep Public Schools is seeking a Student Support Counselor to join our Student Support team. You will establish data-driven, solution-focused counseling and collaborate with staff, families, and community partners to support student achievement.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s in Social Work or Counseling, and a credential such as LMSW/LCSW/LPC-I/LPC within six months. You’ll work in a fast-paced environment and advocate for students’ well-being and success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year educational institution.
• Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling is required.
• Hold a LMSW, LCSW, LPC-I, or LPC or obtain one of these credentials within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Establish data-driven procedures and evidence-based practices to serve students, families, and staff.
• Plan for positive school culture through social, emotional, and behavioral programming.
• Input, review, and analyze student data to assign relevant interventions.
• Conducting quality assessments to inform intervention methods supporting student achievement.
• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions.
• Report concerns of abuse or neglect to appropriate agencies promptly.
• Coordinate interventions for at‑risk students as outlined by TEA and School Culture/Compliance.
• Collaborate with campus staff, parents, and community partners to reduce barriers to achievement.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree
