Job summary

Loudoun County Public Schools is seeking a School Counselor to support students’ personal-social, academic, and career readiness needs. The role emphasizes data-driven evaluation and equitable outcomes within the school community.

The counselor will provide individual and group counseling, classroom instruction, and collaborative support with families and staff to promote student achievement and well-being.

Qualifications

• Master's degree and completion of an approved school counseling program.
• Successful full-time teaching or school guidance and counseling experience.
• Eligibility for appropriate licensure; LPC pathway may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Support the personal-social, mental health, academic needs and college/career readiness of each student.
• Counsel individually on personal problems and developmental areas.
• Conduct small group counseling on topics like study skills and anger management.
• Deliver classroom instruction every 2–3 weeks on counseling topics and bullying prevention.
• Collect, analyze, and report data on program effectiveness and equity to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with families, staff, and administrators to support student achievement and wellness.
