Job summary

The Resource Assistant at Arrow Center for Education Schools supports school-wide behavior management and policies, while providing non-professional counseling to students under supervision.

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe learning environment, supervising student activities, documenting progress, and assisting in crisis management and transitions, while promoting a positive school culture and communicating with the principal as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and at least one year experience working with children and families (preferably in a school setting) required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe learning environment for students within Arrow Center for Education Schools policies.
• Supervises students to observe or influence social behavior and manners.
• Develops counseling skills under supervision to promote wellbeing.
• Provides a reliable supportive presence in the school.
• Completes paperwork to record student progress, and incident reports.
• Participates as a Treatment Team member and communicates information clearly.
• Assists in crisis management and safe transitions to transportation.
• Supports a positive school culture.
• Maintains student safety and crisis intervention as needed.
• Informs the Principal of relevant situations.
• Attends trainings and meetings as required.
• Shares the mission of Arrow Child & Family Ministries with staff, students, and families.
