Job summary

Upper St. Clair School District is seeking a Paraprofessional for the High School for the 2025-2026 school year.

This full-time, 10-month position involves supervising and assisting students in various school settings and delivering clerical support to classroom and program functions. The role does not involve designing or evaluating the teaching-learning process; duties vary by assignment and include technology usage, behavior support and routine administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of postsecondary study (60 credits) or an associate degree.
• One year of experience with direct contact with children preferred.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships with students, staff and the school community.
• Ability to read, analyze and follow written information and instructions.
• Proficient use of educational technology.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and assist students in classrooms, cafeterias, hallways and on buses as needed.
• Provide reinforcement instructional services across visual, auditory, motor and cognitive areas.
• Assist in independent study projects or make-up work as a learner's helper.
• Assist in co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
• Operate teaching devices and district-provided technology as required.
• Provide custodial care including ambulatory support, lifting, feeding and toileting.
• Utilize safe physical management techniques to support student behavior.
• Perform routine clerical duties such as typing, duplicating, and filing.
• Other duties as assigned.
