Job summary

North Adams Public Schools is hiring Teacher Assistants for the 2026/2027 year to support students in developing social/emotional and academic skills and to access the curriculum. The role reports to the Building Principal and Director of Student Support Services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree/48 credits or ParaPro exam required.
• Bachelor degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with individuals and small groups on curriculum under teacher direction.
• Supervise and guide small and large group instruction as set up by the teacher.
• Assist students needing special attention or programming.
• Assist with non-instructional classroom duties and materials prep.
• Assist with lunchroom, assemblies, field trips, and related activities.
• Maintain confidentiality and ethical behavior regarding student information.
• Perform related duties as requested by teachers and principal.
• May be reassigned as needed.
