Job summary

ion Philanthropy LLC seeks a Student Supervisor at Stony Brook University to guide student fundraisers, monitor outreach quality, and report shift results. You will coach peers, drive morale, and help build lasting donor relationships through alumni engagement.

This part-time, hourly role offers hands-on leadership experience, CRM logging practice, and opportunities to shape shift culture and performance within the SBUEC student team.

Responsibilities

• Shift Operations & Monitoring: Monitor live calls for quality, compliance, and effectiveness of alumni engagement. Ensure real-time logging of call results, notes, and alumni updates. Oversee pace and consistency of fundraising asks across the shift.
• Reporting & Results Tracking: Compile shift results into concise reports. Submit shift reports after each shift. Maintain dashboards used by the student team for goals and performance trends.
• Coaching & Training: Provide in-shift coaching on engagement, objection handling, and referral language. Support onboarding for new Student Engagement Specialists. Lead micro-training moments during shifts.
• Fundraising Games & Team Culture: Lead fundraising competitions and engagement games to support motivation and performance. Create morale-boosting elements like themes and recognition moments.
• Culture & Morale Stewardship: Champion shift morale through recognition and encouragement. Foster alumni connection and long-term donor relationships.

The Student Supervisor is responsible for ensuring excellence during each calling shift by guiding student fundraisers, monitoring outreach quality, reporting results, and driving team morale. This role blends operational discipline with culture-building leadership to create an environment where alumni engagement and fundraising success thrive.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Shift Operations & Monitoring: Monitor live calls for quality, compliance, and effectiveness of alumni engagement. Ensure accurate, real-time logging of call results, notes, and alumni updates. Oversee pace, professionalism, and consistency of fundraising asks across the shift.
• Reporting & Results Tracking: Compile shift results into concise reports. Submit shift reports to the Assistant Director after each shift. Maintain dashboards or trackers used by the student team for goals and performance trends.
• Coaching & Training: Provide in-shift coaching to student fundraisers on: Curiosity-led engagement, objection handling, credit card ask confidence, referral language, and multi-ask discipline. Support onboarding and training for new Student Engagement Specialists. Lead brief micro-training moments during shifts to reinforce ask strategy and alumni connection skills
• Fundraising Games & Team Culture: Lead fundraising competitions and engagement games to support motivation and performance. Create morale-boosting elements for shifts including themes, recognition moments, and team celebrations. Maintain a positive, inclusive, and energizing environment that reinforces the mission and shared wins.
• Culture & Morale Stewardship: Champion shift morale through recognition, encouragement, and team alignment. Encourage experience-centered outreach and alumni connection (not just transactional goals). Reinforce the idea that meaningful engagement drives results and builds long-term donor relationships.

SCHEDULE

• Part-time, hourly shift-based role.

COMPENSATION

• $17.50 per hour.
