Student Campaigns and the Scripps Fund Coordinator
Reporting to the Director of Leadership Annual Giving and Scripps Fund, the coordinator will assist in the overall operation of the Scripps Fund, the annual giving program of Scripps College. The coordinator will have a direct responsibility for a portion of the Scripps Fund dollar and participation goals.
Responsibilities
- Manage the student campaign callers, Giving Tuesday campaign and senior class gift programs.
- Partner with Scripps Fund team, Development Services, Donor Relations and Stewardship to manage tracking, creation and distribution of acknowledgements, anniversary mailings and pledge reminders.
- Set the annual student campaigns solicitation calendar and strategy in cooperation with the Director of Annual Giving and Scripps Fund Committee.
- Cooperate with ERIA staff to adapt strategy as needed during the year.
- Supervise day‑to‑day student caller operations, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring and coordinating employment of all student workers; manage related timekeeping and payroll.
- Facilitate ongoing training for student workers on fundamentals of fundraising, donor‑centric approach and best practices for phone solicitation.
- Create an atmosphere of respect, enthusiasm and professionalism among student staff.
- Customize scripts for various constituents and ensure consistency with joined Marketing and Communications messaging.
- Monitor caller performance and coach callers to maintain standards and improve call quality.
- Collaborate with Development Services to streamline pledge and gift processing and data loads into GiveCampus – Student software.
- Manage support technologies related to Student Campaigns including loading and segmenting files, producing reports, analyzing performance and pledge status.
- Research best methods and current trends to improve quality and efficiency of Student Campaigns.
- Work with Stewardship team to implement stewardship videos and messaging supporting outreach.
- Lead student philanthropy campaigns, recruit and motivate volunteers, develop marketing and solicitation materials and plan events.
- Lead senior class students in designating and implementing a senior gift and educating seniors about the impact of their gifts.
- Develop a stewardship plan and solicit class donations from new alums to retain donors.
- Build relationships between advancement and student organizations to facilitate student employment and payroll and collaborate across campus.
- Research new giving channels and evaluate their integration with existing systems.
- Coordinate pledge reminder tracking, creation, outreach and publication of anniversary renewal notices.
- Contribute to the growth and enhancement of the Scripps Fund as a thought partner with the Director and AVP of Philanthropy.
- Support Scripps Fund programs including direct mail, email, giving societies, reunion giving and ensure integration of Student Campaigns and senior class gift programs.
- Support reunion efforts for recent graduates including volunteer recruitment and developing specialized solicitations.
- Keep accurate prospect interaction records in Raiser’s Edge NXT.
- Serve as a front‑line customer service and fundraising agent, receiving gifts, troubleshooting, and connecting donors to appropriate staff.
- Organize on‑campus events such as Reunion Weekend and Day of Giving.

- Experience making cold calls and personal solicitations.
- Ability to present and report on the Student Campaigns program and senior philanthropy initiatives.

- Excellent organizational and project management skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects.

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience. Minimum two years of experience in non‑profit fundraising, secondary or higher education advancement, and/or related campaign development.
Compensation & Hours
Regular full‑time position: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. with seasonal adjustments. Hourly rate range: $25.18 – $26.50. Benefits eligible.
Work Environment & Supervisory Responsibility
The position supervises student callers and managers employed through the Student Campaigns program. Work environment is quiet to moderate noise. Employees must maintain concentration, attention to detail, and physical capabilities for sitting, standing, reaching and lifting. Reasonable accommodations available.
