Torrance Unified School District is hiring part-time campus monitors to supervise students and ensure safety protocols on school grounds. Positions are 5–20 hours per week, 10 months per year, across 193 days, with an oral technical interview and potential Zoom testing as part of the selection process.
Under direct supervision, monitors ensure rules are followed, aid in maintaining a safe environment, and assist in basic student supervision—experience with children is desirable.
OPEN UNTIL FILLED
This is an OPEN recruitment to establish an eligibility list, fill vacancies and hire substitutes. Substitutes work on an as-needed basis to fill in for absent employees. The eligibility list will be used to fill permanent vacancies which may occur during the life of the eligibility list.
Positions in this classification are part-time (5-20 hours per week), 10 months per year, 193 days.
The recruitment process will consist of an oral technical interview. Testing may occur on a weekly basis. Those who meet the minimum qualification will be invited to the oral technical interview which will be administered via Zoom. Qualified applicants will be notified by US mail or email.
Under direct supervision of the principal, assistant principal and/or assigned supervisor, monitors the school campus to ensure that student safety protocols are observed and school/playground rules and regulations are followed by students.
Some experience in the care of children is desirable.
