Job summary

Seminole State College of Florida is seeking a Student Success Specialist I to serve as the primary contact for current and prospective students across programs and courses. You will guide applicants through admissions, placement testing, financial aid, advising, and enrollment steps with a focus on service excellence.

Responsibilities include academic advisement, assisting with admissions processes, and coordinating referrals to tutoring, counseling, and disability services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• One year of experience working with students in an educational setting or related experience.
• Knowledge of college enrollment functions incl. admissions, placement testing, advising, and financial aid.

Responsibilities

• Provides academic advisement services to all students and helps plan educational goals.
• Advises students on applications, transcripts, residency verification, FAFSA, and tuition payments.
• Interprets placement assessments and explains course and program placement.
• Supports enrollment goals through events like Decision Days and College Nights.
• Directs students to tutoring, counseling, and other campus services as needed.
• Verifies documents required for admission and enrollment.
• Assists with enrollment management and student experience improvements.
• Works with campus visitors, departments, and services to support students.
