Job summary

CHCP in Houston is seeking a dedicated on-site Student Success Coordinator to re-enter students after dropping and guide them with the tools and resources to complete their education, focusing on the first 90-day transition to college.

Reporting to the Director of Education, you will lead re-entry efforts, coordinate services, and drive improvements in satisfaction and retention while hosting workshops and meetings for student success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; degree preferred.
• Ability to work on-site in Houston.
• Strong communication and coaching skills.

Responsibilities

• Focus on student re-entries and the first 90-day transition back to college experience.
• Assist with retention through supportive services and efforts.
• Develop and maintain a bank of student services assistance options (e.g. referrals to childcare, transportation, part-time jobs).
• Lead weekly stitch-in meetings with the new student committee.
• Coordinate efforts to assist students who have dropped, are re-entering, and continuing school.
• Regularly report on students at risk of withdrawing and efforts to assist.
• Insures follow up actions based on student survey results, withdrawal data, and root causes analysis to drive improvements in satisfaction and retention.
• Assist with daily follow up on absent students.
• Participate in Reentry Committee meetings and meet re-entry budgets monthly.
• Facilitate workshops for students (study skills, note taking, test anxiety).
• Meet students in person to discuss resources, portal, tutoring, etc.
• Organize and facilitate community service opportunities for students, staff and faculty.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Student Services Manager or senior staff.
