Job summary

Battle Creek Public Schools seeks a Student Success Specialist at Northwestern Academy of Visual and Performing Arts to provide targeted supports for students through Title I initiatives. Qualifications

• Demonstrated success in working with students and families of diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to quickly establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships with school staff.
• Effective communication skills in group facilitation and managing students.
• Cultural awareness and sensitivity to race and equity in public education.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, supplemental support to students identified as failing or at risk.
• Build positive relationships to increase engagement, attendance and success.
• Coordinate and staff a Student Success Center for short-term interventions and re-entry support.
• Collaborate with Principal, Behavior Interventionist, Bearcat Coach, and teachers to support students.
• Implement restorative, trauma-informed strategies to support learning.
