Job summary

Battle Creek Public Schools in Michigan is seeking an Edustaff Title I Student Success Specialist to directly support identified students with engagement, behavior/SEL, attendance, and learning-readiness interventions aligned to the Title I plan.

The Specialist will help students develop self-regulation, problem-solving, and readiness to learn, collaborating with a spectrum of school staff to promote successful classroom reintegration and academic success.

Qualifications

• Direct work with students and families from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to establish relationships quickly with staff and families.
• Strong communication in group settings and written form.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed and restorative practices.
• Understanding of MTSS and student engagement strategies.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, supplemental support to students identified as at risk of not meeting standards.
• Build positive relationships to increase engagement, attendance, and success.
• Provide check-in/check-out support for students needing extra academic or behavioral support.
• Coordinate a supplemental Student Success Center for short-term skill-building and re-entry.
• Ensure the Center is used for intervention, not as discipline.
• Collaborate with Principal, Behavior Interventionist, Bearcat Coach, teachers and staff to support students.
• Apply trauma-informed, restorative, culturally responsive, student-centered strategies.
• Help students develop emotional regulation, problem-solving, and positive interactions.
• Collaborate with families to support engagement and attendance.
• Attend professional development on restorative practices and MTSS.
• Support schoolwide Title I strategies from comprehensive needs assessment.
