Please note: This position is employed by Edustaff, the district's staffing partner.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Tutoring or assisting individual students
  • Teaching small group lessons
  • Providing additional instruction in reading and math skills
  • Collaborating and supporting teachers' programming goals, and teaching strategies while reinforcing students' learning strategies in the classroom
  • Assist classroom teachers in documenting appropriate assessment data that results in fair, though not equal, assessment.
  • Ensure that data collection is accurate and timely.
  • Engage in professional development on a continual basis
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Promote and advocate for the school and district mission and vision statements
  • Support academic, and behavior goals that have been set for students
  • Communicate proactively and professionally with students with teaching staff
  • Conduct all work activities in a professional manner
  • Demonstrate commitment to working in a diverse school community and/or work environment
  • Reinforce student success following highly structured protocols and data documentation methods
  • Understand and participate in the implementation of Positive Behavior Support initiatives in the building
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must have 60 college credits or an Associate's Degree or higher or a passing score (460 or higheron the ETS Paraprofessional Assessment)
  • Must be flexible and organized and willing to work as a team with other staff members.
  • Must have prior experience in an elementary classroom setting.
  • Experience working with students in the Reading and Writing (balanced literacy)
  • Experience in developing lesson plans in all subject areas.
  • Experience in collaborating with colleagues.

Salary:

$20.00 per hour

$30.00 per hour (Certified Teacher)
