Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Business or related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in higher education in student success, student affairs, data analytics, or related areas.
  • Experience with project management software (Asana).

Responsibilities

  • Develop reports for student success outcome measures and KPIs.
  • Lead planning, logistics, and analysis for multiple Student Success Collaborative teams.
  • Increase collaboration with campus partners to drive retention and completion goals.
  • Analyze, track, and report on student progress using data assets.
  • Manage workflow of ad hoc projects across student success units.
  • Publish project charters and formal reports for the repository.

Student Success Project Manager

Wayne State University is searching for an experienced StudentSuccess Project Manager at its Detroit campus location.

Essential functions (job duties):
Job Purpose

The Student Success Project Manager plans, manages, and tracksprojects and initiatives across multiple student success units. This role designs and maintains transparency of strategicinitiatives in alignment with the priorities of the university’sbroader retention and completion goals. In addition, the StudentSuccess Project Manager is responsible for partnering with leadersof past initiatives that have advanced student persistence at WayneState University to publish project charters and formal reports forthe student success project repository.

Using predictive analytics along with institutional dashboards and data assets, this position assesses the academic performance needsof students, with particular attention to historicallyunderrepresented and niche populations.

This position reports to the Director, Student Success OperationalStrategy.

Essential Functions

  • Develop reports for student success outcome measures, KPIs, andother metrics to ensure attainment of student successobjectives.
  • Lead planning, logistics, and outcome analysis for multipleteams of the Student Success Collaborative.
  • Increase meaningful collaboration between the Office of StudentSuccess Operational Strategy and campus partners to drive progresstoward student retention and completion goals.
  • Effectively leverage student success systems and platforms toanalyze, track, and report on student progress.
  • Manage workflow of ad hoc projects supporting multiple studentsuccess units.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education

Bachelor’s degree

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Business orrelated field or equivalent combination of education and relevantexperience required. Project management certification,preferred.

Experience

Intermediate (3 to 4 years job-relatedexperience)

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in higher education in relevantareas: student success, student affairs, data analytics, academicadvising, or similar education and experience.
  • Experience with project management software (Asana), knowledgeof business practices and operations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Clear verbal and written abilities, with effectiveinterpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a largerteam.
  • Ability to compare, contrast and quality check work with a keenattention to detail. Strong analytical skills including criticalthinking and problem-solving skills. Proficient with standardoffice tools (word processing, spreadsheets, presentationcreation), research abilities to find relevant materials usingonline search tools, and database management systems.
  • Proficient in using technology to develop, implement, track,and analyze programs designed to maximize outreach efforts usingstudent information systems. Demonstrated ability to aggregate andanalyze data to evaluate outcomes towards set performance goals.Experience with database query and table design.
