Job summary

ANSEP’s Acceleration Academy at the University of Alaska Bethel campus seeks a Program Assistant to support 9th-12th grade students as they earn college credits. The role runs August 2026 through early May 2027, with on-site duties, some evenings/weekends, and occasional dorm supervision.

A safe, engaging learning environment is essential and you will keep track of attendance and activities. You will assist with direct student interaction, coordinate logistics, and ensure adherence to university

Qualifications

• Some college coursework in STEM or education and 1–2 years progressively responsible experience related to school aged children; teaching certification preferred.
• Current CPR with AED/First Aid certification preferred.
• Position requires driving an ANSEP vehicle; applicant must be 21+ with a valid AK driver’s license and three years of driving record.
• Must be able to lift or move 25 to 50 lbs with or without accommodation.
• Experience working with rural and/or Indigenous Alaska populations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct student supervision and academic support for ANSEP Acceleration Academy students.
• Coordinate logistics and prep activity supplies; ensure a safe, engaging learning environment.
• Track student attendance and monitor safety; follow university policies.
• Help with statewide events and occasional evenings/weekends; may supervise in UA dorms.
• Drive a 15-passenger van to transport students, observing safety guidelines.
