Job summary

Florida State University seeks a Program Coordinator to support the Center for Academic Retention & Enhancement in Tallahassee. You will provide individual counseling and lead weekly group sessions, while coordinating student staff and managing program logistics.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree with relevant experience; a Master's is preferred. Strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and two years of experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.
• Valid State of Florida or Georgia Driver’s License or ability to obtain prior to hire.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Knowledge of university rules and regulations.
• Experience with student advising or counseling in an educational setting.
• Ability to extract complex academic information and maintain confidentiality.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal, academic, and career counseling for each student and conduct weekly group sessions.
• Schedule at least one meeting per semester with each participant on academic, personal, and social issues.
• Recruit and supervise student staff and volunteers for program activities.
• Assist the Program Manager and facilitate the program in their absence; participate in motivation and development activities.
• Coordinate liaison activities among local school districts and businesses.
