Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Public speaking experience and ability to work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience with first generation, low-income, and ethnic-minority students.
  • Ability to relate to K-12 age populations; weekend and evening hours required; travel required.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and meet University driver eligibility requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personalized academic support and guidance for NCPA students in Omaha.
  • Coordinate multi-day summer programming for NCPA high school students at UNL.
  • Coordinate recruitment programs in Omaha; meet with school counselors and prospective students.
  • Interact with community organizations and agency staff; plan and implement events for recruitment/retention of first generation/low-income students.
  • Serve as liaison between UNL, Omaha and other communities; grant-funded position.
