Job summary

The Nebraska College Preparatory Academy (NCPA) seeks a self-motivated professional to provide mental health counseling, assessments, and education to NCPA high school students at Omaha North Magnet High School, as part of the wellness team.

Eligibility for PLMHP/LMHP licensure in Nebraska is required at hire. This grant-funded role may require some evening/weekend hours and could be remote depending on weekly presence in Omaha Public Schools. Collaborate with CAPS and school staff.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree plus one year of experience providing support for first-generation, low-income, and minority students.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, public speaking experience, and ability to work independently.
• Strong knowledge of personality theory, psychopathology, normal and abnormal development, and psychotherapy techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provide mental health counseling and assessments for NCPA students.
• Offer education and training seminars to students and staff.
• Serve as a liaison with community and educational organizations.
• Conduct college access presentations for students and families.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) team.
