Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students across elementary to high school levels to promote academic success, attendance, and positive behaviors. You will plan and monitor student progress and work with teachers on classroom instruction and student support.

New members receive 2–4 weeks of training at the year’s start and ongoing guidance. A bi-weekly living stipend is provided, along with benefits such as health, dental, and vision insurance, EAP, and relocation support.

Qualifications

• Must be 17-25 by July 1, 2025
• GED or high school diploma or equivalent
• Some college experience or degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups
• Support literacy and math skills through varied activities
• Create and implement behavior management and classroom engagement
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor student progress and data
• Support school initiatives and after-school programming
