Job summary

Marist University in Poughkeepsie, NY seeks a Learning Specialist to provide individualized academic support to students in the Learning Support Program. The role focuses on developing self-advocacy and transition to college with direct writing support and accommodations.

Experience in higher education and knowledge of ADA/504 are preferred; a 9-month, full-time schedule with standard campus hours is offered along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, Higher Education Administration or related field.
• 1–3 years of related experience.
• Computer competence and excellent time management skills required.

Responsibilities

• Teach time management, study skills, and writing process support.
• Assess learning needs and design accommodations.
• Advise on course selection and refer to advisors.
• Collaborate with faculty to monitor progress and communicate with parents.
• Refer students to campus resources and develop workshops.
• Other duties as assigned.
