Job summary

Adams State University is seeking a SSS Student Success Coordinator for on-site work in Alamosa, CO. You will lead onboarding, financial aid navigation, career exploration, and peer-mentorship programs to boost belonging and persistence among underrepresented students.

You will supervise three part-time Peer Mentors, collaborate with Financial Aid and Career Services, and support Plans of Action for students balancing academic commitments. Strong equity focus preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, or related field.
• Experience addressing postsecondary educational standards, equity policies, and socio-emotional and structural barriers that impact undergraduate retention.
• Minimum 1 year of professional experience advising college‑level populations or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of experience collaborating and coordinating with multiple student service divisions (Financial Aid, Housing, Career Services, Counseling Services).
• Working knowledge of economic/financial literacy frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Non-Cognitive Strategy Development: Design and facilitate workshops on non-cognitive needs.
• Mentor Supervision and Training: Recruit, train, and oversee three Part-time Peer Mentors.
• Financial Literacy & Guidance: Provide proactive financial aid guidance and host literacy workshops.
• Career and Major Exploration Counseling: Deliver coordinated career counseling with Career Services.
• Plan of Action (POA) Support: Assist participants in establishing POAs and review data at monthly check-ins.
• Campus Engagement and Event Coordination: Coordinate student activities and provide identity-safe spaces.
• Data Collection & Participant Logging: Track participation, attendance, and mentorship hours in BLUMEN.
• Recruitment & Summer Scholars Bridge Program: Support intake, rubrics, and participant identification.
