Qualifications

• Experience: 4–6 years in student affairs, higher education administration, hospitality management, facilities operations, or front-office leadership.
• Higher Education Acumen: Deep understanding of modern higher education and cross-department collaboration.
• Strategic Maintenance & Growth: Proven ability to grow and integrate small teams across departments.
• Complex Leadership: Oversight of multiple business units and permanent operational staff.
• Spatial & Facilities Familiarity: Experience with workspace planning and flexible layouts.
• Financial Literacy: Familiarity with higher education budgeting and finance.
• Communication: Elite interpersonal skills for mentoring students and briefing leadership.

Responsibilities

• Architect growth strategy to scale a compact student intern unit across departments.
• Design, implement, and facilitate a professional development and career-readiness curriculum for interns.
• Oversee administration, tracking, and budgeting of student experiential stipends and funding.
• Coordinate with campus and UC Berkeley offices on stipend eligibility and aid packaging rules.
• Provide coaching, performance reviews, and mentorship to help students leverage awards into careers.
