Job summary

East Side House (ESH) seeks a Student Advisor at Mott Haven Community High School in the Bronx to support college and career readiness, monitor academic progress, and address student issues within the Primary Person Model.

You will collaborate with school staff, families, and ESH partners to develop individualized plans, provide counseling as needed, and help students build employability skills through workshops and activities.

Qualifications

• BA/BSW with at least two years’ youth-related experience.
• Excellent verbal, analytical, writing, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with diverse youth, families and schools.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one sessions with students at least twice a month.
• Help students set SMART goals and develop individualized plans.
• Collaborate with families, school staff, and partners to support student success.
• Document interactions in data systems and monitor attendance.
• Support student admissions, orientation, and transitions as needed.
