The role involves building strong relationships, reviewing progress, guiding students to resources, and coordinating with faculty to enhance retention and outcomes. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree and experience in student services in higher education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Two years’ experience delivering direct support/services to students in a higher education setting.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with students to achieve their identified goals and objects.
• Review student progress and track student use of academic support services.
• Assist students in identifying factors that contribute to lack of academic progress, help students examine alternatives, and apply appropriate retention strategies to support students’ efforts.
• Strategize with faculty and other college staff as needed to improve support student success.
• Maintain accurate tracking data and notes for each assigned student, recommending appropriate referrals and opportunity programs.
• Support annual recruitment of new students.
• Create and conduct training sessions/workshops for students, faculty and staff.
• Assist with a developing and implementing a variety of institutional retention activities.
• Participate in new student orientation and first year experience activities.
• Utilize an SIS student records system and be able to function within a computerized office environment.
