East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania is seeking a Student Success Coach to collaborate across ESU departments, using data metrics to bolster retention and guide first-year student success. You will work with the Associate Provost for Student Success and participate in committees to optimize academic success initiatives.

The role emphasizes personalized campus connections, data-informed interventions, and a commitment to serving on ESU committees to improve student outcomes in a full-time

Qualifications

• Master's degree in campus life, education, counseling, or related field.
• Two or more years of experience in a field directly related to the duties and responsibilities.
• Experience with higher education student support programs (e.g. mentoring programs).
• Experience with assessment construction, data collection techniques, and analysis of said data.
• Excellent oral, written, technological skills (including excel, data collection reports, and social media).
• Strong collaborative skills with higher education faculty, staff, and administration.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Comprehensive understanding of higher education, mentoring, tutoring, or counseling.
• Understanding of both traditional and non-traditional higher education students.
• Diligence and persistence in connecting with at-risk students.
• A positive and enthusiastic personality that ensures approachability and empathy to all.
• Able to read, write, and comprehend English; able to follow verbal instructions.
• Experience with Word, Excel, Teams required.

Responsibilities

• Connect students to resources and guide students to successful completion of a degree program.
• Support students through encouragement, engagement, motivation, and inspiration.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of student success initiatives.
• Administer varied tools and assessments of first-year students.
• Define and identify 'at-risk' freshmen and establish data baseline and tracking mechanism.
• Monitor and review student assessment responses and progress indicators and respond with a personal support plan.
• Analyze assessment data, maintain databases, and construct reports on interventions and retention.
• Refer students to campus resources to meet personalized needs.
• Collaborate with faculty, administration, Financial Aid, Residence Life, Admissions, and others on retention efforts.
• Document student contact and maintain records via the university's information system.
• Coordinate social media content to communicate support and announcements with first-year students.
• Serve on university-wide committees and academic success initiatives.
• Perform other duties to support ESU's mission and diversity goals.
