Job summary

Columbia-Greene Community College seeks a Success Coach to support a new advising model and strengthen students’ academic behaviors throughout their educational journey. The coach will also convey and interpret CGCC’s rules, prerequisites, programs and courses of study.

This 12-month, administrative role will advocate for student achievement, support student goals, and coordinate with faculty to enhance advisement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a field related to student success coaching.
• Minimum 4 years of related college experience in academic coaching or student support.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work with diverse faculty, staff, and students.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Guide students in identifying strengths, challenges, interests and academic habits.
• Assist students in setting achievable academic goals and action plans.
• Maintain student records and manage advising data systems.
• Collaborate with faculty and departments to improve advisement.
• Participate in onboarding, orientation, and recruitment activities.
• Manage a caseload through degree completion/transfer.
• Use data tools to track progress and intervene timely.
• Liaise with Financial Aid regarding degree progress and aid eligibility.
