Job summary

The University of the District of Columbia seeks a Case Manager to lead efforts to strengthen student persistence by increasing awareness and satisfaction with available resources and supports.

The role develops a comprehensive case-management system, coordinates wrap-around services with campus and community partners, oversees the Firebird Market pantry, and launches a year-long student leadership academy to enhance leadership skills, personal development, and civic engagement for all students.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work or counseling required.
• Licensed Social Worker (LICSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in DC or able to obtain within six months.
• Minimum three years post‑graduate experience in human/social services.
• Knowledge of community-based behavioral health care.
• Experience engaging diverse communities and individuals.

Responsibilities

• Develops and assesses a comprehensive case-management program for student basic-needs.
• Consults with students, assesses needs, coordinates interventions and referrals.
• Identifies emerging student needs and campus trends and adjusts outreach and services.
• Collaborates with campus units, government agencies, nonprofits, and community providers to build coordinated resources.
• Develops and maintains an up-to-date database of university and community resources.
• Supports coordination of referrals, case records, and training with leadership.
• Oversees Firebird Market operations and partnerships to ensure resource availability.
• Creates and evaluates a leadership academy to bolster student leadership and civic engagement.
