Job summary

Gestalt Community Schools is seeking teacher assistants for the 2023-2024 school year. Assistants will support elementary, middle, or high school students and collaborate with teachers to maintain a structured learning environment.

Responsibilities include classroom support, activity coordination, record keeping, and participation in meetings. A passion for youth development and reliable, organized conduct are essential. Background checks will be required.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience working with or managing children
• Minimum high school diploma with 48 college credit hours
• Ability to maintain accurate records
• Passion for Gestalt's mission and youth development
• Reliable, organized and punctual
• Ability to resolve conflicts and negotiate solutions
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and school partners
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
• Ability to deliver on objectives with professional conduct
• Patience and creativity with a win-win approach
• Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Must pass a background check

Responsibilities

• Assists teachers with assignments and administrative tasks
• Coordinates program activities for children
• Evaluates situations and directs to appropriate personnel
• Interacts with scholars to maintain a safe, positive learning environment
• Maintains enrollment records and sign-in/out logs
• Participates in staff meetings to share information
• Maintains a safe environment for children
• Other duties as assigned
