Gestalt Community Schools is seeking a Teacher Assistant for the 2023-2024 school year to support classroom teachers across elementary, middle or high school levels in Memphis, TN. Qualifications

• At least one year experience working with and/or managing children
• High school diploma; 48 college credit hours required
• Ability to maintain accurate records
• Passion for Gestalt's mission and youth development
• Reliable, organized and punctual
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proficient in Excel, Outlook and Word
• Ability to articulate requirements and provide resources to meet objectives
• Professional conduct and role-model behavior
• Strong character, patience, and creative problem-solving
• Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Must pass a background check

Responsibilities

• Assists teachers with copying, attendance, and other admin tasks.
• Coordinates program activities (games, art, music, homework) for individual and group needs.
• Evaluates situations for appropriate action and directs to staff as needed.
• Interacts with scholars to maintain a safe, positive learning environment.
• Maintains enrollment, sign-in/out logs, invoices and receipts.
• Participates in staff meetings to share information and develop skills.
• Maintains a safe environment for children.
• Other duties as assigned.
