Job summary

The University of California, Berkeley is seeking an SSA 4 academic advisor in the EECS department to support students and faculty across CS, EECS, and CDSS. You will assist in advising, recruitment, admissions, and degree planning as part of a collaborative team.

You will coordinate with campus offices, help with degree audits, plan events, and contribute to policy development to enhance student success and equitable outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced student services to EECS, CDSS, CS, and ECE majors; assist dean/chair, faculty, and students in advising, recruitment, and degree planning.
• Review progress, advise on degree requirements, and devise curriculum plans with chairs/deans and faculty.
• Coordinate with campus offices to resolve issues (DSP, Financial Aid, Registrar).
• Plan and implement high-visibility student events such as commencement and CS Ed Day.
• Advise on department policies and support policy development and petitions.
