Job summary

University of California, Berkeley seeks a dedicated student services professional to provide comprehensive advising and support across admissions, enrollment, financial aid, and events for the MSE/college programs. You will coordinate scheduling, support faculty and students, and ensure compliance with campus policies.

This 100% FTE role requires strong communication, intercultural competency, and collaboration with multiple offices, fostering inclusive excellence and student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
• Working knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.
• Solid verbal and written communication skills.
• Multicultural competencies; ability to work with diverse populations.
• Ability in problem identification and reasoning; ability to develop original ideas to solve problems.
• Judgment and decision-making; problem solving; identifying measures of system performance and the actions to improve performance.
• Knowledge of University-specific computer application programs and knowledge of University and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences.

Responsibilities

• Applying professional student services concepts and provides the full range of services to student population.
• Recruitment and Admissions responsibilities including outreach, admissions questions, data systems and yield.
• Academic Advising with collaboration across departments to advise on degree requirements and progression.
• Courses and Enrollment planning, scheduling, waitlists, and classroom allocation.
• ASE Hiring and coordination of GSI/Reader appointments with ERSO.
• Events coordination for Cal Day, orientation, commencements and related student activities.
• Oversees financial aid administration and student awards processes.
• Professional Development and alumni network enhancement.
