Job summary

Automatic Data Processing, Inc. is seeking a full-time Student Advisor in Long Beach, CA. You will partner with students, families, and professionals to guide independence and coordinate CIP functions onsite.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field, proficiency with office software, and a driver’s license. 2 years in autism/learning differences at the higher education level is preferred. Competitive benefits and ongoing training are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or related field is required.
• Proficient with office software programs and quick learner in new technologies is required.
• Active Driver’s license required.
• 2 years of experience in autism/learning disabilities at the higher education level is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Write and coordinate Individual Service Plans (ISPs) and Semi-Annual Progress reports.
• Prepare and facilitate periodic meetings with students and parents.
• Communicate with student families regarding progress and schedule changes.
• Assist students with banking/money management and monthly budgets.
• Lead Team Review Meetings and report student progress weekly.
• Attend weekly updates on academic, residential, culinary, and vocational progress.
• Consult with CIP team to ensure comprehensive student programming.
• Confront and respond to problems or policy violations.
• Reinforce student growth from self-awareness to self-determination.
• Monitor progress and inform families and CIP staff of changes.
• Promote student engagement using Advising Processes and Tools.
