Responsibilities

• Provides confidential academic advising to ensure students receive individual attention to succeed.
• Develops and monitors academic plans to assist students with timely graduation and supports retention initiatives.
• Responds to student messages, inquiries, and requests in a timely manner.
• Provides academic advising to prospective FIU students and current students considering change of major.
• Educates advisees on resources and policies (including Career and Talent Development, Center for Academic Success, PDA, Major Maps, EAB, Handshake).
• Conducts targeted outreach to improve retention and graduation rates.
